| The map below shows the areas of the cedar
swamp forest at the Tracker Camp that have been cut over the years.
Originally the whole area was covered with a mature
cedar swamp forest -- majestic cedars 1.5 to 2 feet in diameter. Starting
in 1972, one section at a time has been clearcut.
The 2000, 1999, 1998, and 1996 sections have a makeshift
road running into the center of each section, made of smaller tree trunks. |
